“Ilmatar” is the most powerful metaphor of
creativity introduced in the Finnish mythological epic
of
Kalevala.
Ilmatar Institute was founded in Virtasalmi, Finland and
began the construction of the training site in 2000. The
construction was completed in the summer of 2007.
The site consists of a training studio, IAM Atelier (IAM
Ateljee), a small Guest Cottage (Vieras Aitta), a Christ
Chapel (Kristus Kappeli), a Zen Shed (Zen Vaja) wood
shed, a large Rock Garden (Kivi Puutarha), a Sampo Sauna
by the lake, an Art Stable (Taide Talli), an outdoor Sky
Gallery (Taivas Galleria), and in its garden rooms, several
meditations sites.

Institute offered pilot workshops in 2003 and 2005.
Ilmatar Institute will formally open its doors and the NohKiDo™ training
will begin in the summer of 2008.
Mission Statement
Ilmatar Institute’s mission is to foster the arts,
creativity and spirituality. Faith, intuition and creativity
are a powerful means to the Divine within. The first three
years the training concentrates on NohKiDo™ training
of Therapeutic Noh Theater®.
The training will be conducted in English.
